Business class has had a significant make-over since I last flew anywhere but coach class. Each passenger is tucked into their own little pod universe. Each person is almost completely isolated in their own little world. Conversation with fellow travelers is virtually impossible. The chairs recline into a bed. It is narrow and overly firm, but fully prone. Each pod has a video monitor. Rather than selecting from four simultaneously running movies you can select from a mini-Netflix sampling of current movies or your favorite television programs. Bose noise canceling headphones are provided.

Our flight to London is 6 hours. We will arrive around 5:00a London time. Of course our bodies will still be on Carrboro time where clocks will just be striking midnight. We have a bit of a sit in London while we wait for our flight to Venice.
Dinner is served! I doubt that they ate any better in first class.
Update: We arrived in London shortly after 5:00a, but we had to circle until 6:00a because Heathrow Airport doesn’t open until 6:00. Who knew?!
Hmmmm…..perhaps those business accommodations are just on international flights? I’ve not seen anything like that on domestic flights as they herd us poor folks past the first and business class sections to install us in our chicken-sized crates.
