Day 2

Today the electricians arrived. Most of their work remains invisible behind the walls. They added circuits, isolated circuits to meet current code, and created new outlets here and there to accommodate the new order of things. Our kitchen, it seems, needs to be brought up to current electrical code. Who knew that the electrical code had changed in 30 years?!

As Day 2 arrived so did Steve, one of our cabinetry-handy neighbors. Steve has a renovation project of his own going on in his basement. He hauled away 100% of the cabinets where he will repair, refinish, and give them another 30 years of life.

One of the carpenters took the stove and the dishwasher – both in better shape than his. His wife came by to thank us the next day. The dining table and chairs will also see a new home via Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore.
