“If it ain’t one thing, it’s another.” – Roseanne Roseannadanna
As we inspected all of the work done yesterday Betty noticed that the microwave was installed higher the design plan called for. It is so high that it would be a OSHA challenge for her to safely move things in and out of it. The microwave (like the refrigerator) also projects out in front of the cabinets more than expected. Jason is going to explore options for correcting all of this.
On the good news front, the vent hood installation was accomplished with no fuss, no muss! Betty inspected the installation shortly after they finished and announced, “It’s perfect!” Once the hood was in place, the range was moved into its cubby. It gently overlaps the countertop on 3 sides. Now we just have to learn how to use an induction cooktop and a convection oven. To remain compos mentis those of us in the senior demographic have to fire up new neurons from time to time. A new range is more fun than video games!
- The new and improved range hood is mounted high enough that tall cooks won’t whack their head into it.
- Not cooking with gas. Still electric. But with induction and convection maybe we won’t notice the difference.
- We will have lots of light in the new kitchen. Good thing for our aging eyes.
- The range cooktop overlaps the counter – just a bit.
