JUST KIDDING! I did attend the bee conference. There is no big reveal.
Jason responded to my WTF call on Day 51 with an email proclaiming that they were on their way to Charlotte to pick up our cabinet doors. Apparently, all of the cabinet doors had been shipped back to the manufacturer to be refinished. (Spoiler alert: See Day 72 for an alternate version – truthiness.) He said that Paul will come tomorrow to install cabinet doors and drawers, finish trim and work on pantry. Most importantly tomorrow is also the final inspection.
To honor the importance of the inspection moment, Jason promised that he would be here to greet the building inspector. What motivates this level of attention, you ask? Final payment (less punch list withhold) is tied to passing inspection. Jason wants to collect a check.
I left for the bee conference in New Bern around 9:00. No one had arrived. In fact, the inspector was the first to arrive – around 10:00. No one from The Bath Shop was here to show off their amazing work. Ooops!
Jason’s final comment in his email was even more baffling. “Friday I’m working from my phone I am getting married on Friday.”
