Keith arrived at 8:45. Jason’s promises to the contrary, Gaston never showed up. Keith painted and installed the chair rail in the dining room.

The chair rail is now at 42″ to match the height of our new chairs. The old chair rail (where the new paint and old meet in this picture) was useless.
Diana and Jason showed up at 10:00 to discuss tile installation. Betty bought the tile last Saturday (Day 33). In the course of the discussion they decided that the pencil tile edging that the original design specs called for would be a bad look. Jason recommended using a product called Schluter® instead.
That led to a discussion of bright white versus gloss white tile since the only Schluter® currently available in this area is bright white. Alas, Betty had chosen the wrong white. Who knew how many varieties of white existed?
We returned the gloss white tiles and picked up bright white replacements and a couple of Schluter strips. Jason will install the tile tomorrow.
